The ifs will provide the following materials for specialist units before your study commences:

Access to extensive online student and tutor resources via the information gateway, my ifslearning
On-demand assessment
ifs KnowledgeBank, an online information service and e-library, giving you access to a wide range of resources including databases, full text journals, reference sources and books to support your students' studies.

Tutor development days

We run tutor development days throughout the summer term. The purpose of the day is:

To give tutors an overview of the qualifications.
To allow tutors to network with peers.
To give tutors advice and guidance on the delivery of the qualifications.
To share best practice and expertise.

The exams

Awarded by the ifs School of Finance, all units are paper-based examinations.

Grading of qualifications

CeFS and Dip FS are graded on the scale A-E. If students do not achieve an E grade, this will result in the award of an unclassified grade, Grade U. FCPF is graded Fail, Pass, Merit or Distinction and ICPF is graded Fail, Pass, Credit, Merit or Distinction.

Resit information

Candidates wanting to improve their unit scores are able to resit any unit examination (once only for CeFS and DipFS). The better unit score will be counted towards the accumulated total for their final overall grade. However, research has indicated that only students who are coached for a resit perform at a higher standard.
