Fellowship
Fellowship (Fifs) of the ifs School of Finance is a mark of senior professional status in financial services. The requirements for Fellowship reflect the diversity of the financial services sector in which members operate and recognize service and commitment to the ifs and its objectives.
Fellowship criteria
Fellows are elected by the ifs's Board of Governors from Associates of the ifs (and other financial services professionals with comparable qualifications) who are of managerial status or who have held a managerial appointment and who must meet the following three criteria:
- Qualifications
Applicants must be Associates of the ifs School of Finance or be holders of either a first degree or
a professional qualification comparable with the ACIB/BSc or Aifs/BSc honours degree.
- Status
Applicants must be of (or have held) managerial status.
- Service
The Board takes into account service to the financial services industry/profession and, in particular, service to the ifs or to financial services education in general. Normally, such service would be over and above the applicant's full-time job. Alternatively Board will have regard to the achievement of academic distinction in a related field or direct support or involvement in the achievement of the ifs's strategic objectives.
Benefits of election to Fellowship include:
- Recognition of commitment to the financial services industry and in particular education and training.
- Use of the description 'Fellow of the ifs School of Finance' and the designation 'Fifs'.
- Joining over 3,500 senior bankers and financial services professionals who are already Fellows of the Institute - you would become a part of this influential group.
- Inclusion in the Fellow's Directory.
- Within a year of election to Fellowship an invitation for you and a guest to attend the annual Diploma Ceremony in London when a short presentation will be made in acknowledgment of your election;
The Board considers all applications and if successful applicants receive formal notification of election and are advised of the amount of subscription due (the current annual rate is £130.00). In addition a Fellow's scroll and a letter of congratulation from the ifs's Chairman is forwarded shortly after election.
