ifs School of Finance to offer INSEAD scholarships

The ifs School of Finance has confirmed that it will continue to award six MBA scholarships per year to prestigious French business school INSEAD.

The scholarships will be awarded on an annual basis until 2012 under the Henry Grunfield Foundation administered by the ifs School of Finance.

Having fled Nazi Germany in the 1930s, Henry Grunfield co-founded investment bank S.G. Warburg with Siegmund Warburg in 1946. S.G. Warburg became part of UBS in the mid-90s but Henry Grunfield continued to work for the bank until he died, aged 95, in 1999.  Grunfield established the foundation in the 1990s with the aim of providing scholarships to those who had a UK background and a demonstrable commitment to investment banking. Each scholarship is worth up to £8,500 and preference is always given to those in financial need.

Martin Day, Director of Higher Education and Executive Development at the ifs School of Finance said:

“We have been administering the Henry Grunfield Foundation for ten years now and are delighted to be able to confirm our commitment to providing INSEAD scholarships for another five years. These scholarships can open up tremendous opportunities for those who may otherwise not have access to such a prestigious MBA programme.”

Antonio Fatas, Dean of MBA programmes at INSEAD, added:

“The scholarships support INSEAD’s efforts to attract the best quality of candidates. We are delighted with the ifs School of Finance’s funding renewal and our continued collaboration to encourage future success in the financial services industry.”

Applications for these INSEAD scholarships must be made directly to INSEAD: www.insead.edu
