ifs School of Finance Offer Masterclass in T.C.F.

The ifs School of Finance are to offer a Masterclass on Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) at their Cannon Street offices later this month.

The class will be led by finance professional Richard Wyatt-Haines on February 20 2007 and will include:

Those taking the course will not only improve their understanding of the TCF concept, but also the FSA's intentions. In April, the FSA will assess the industry's progress on TCF as well as setting out their approach to firms that fail to meet their expectations so it’s a crucial time for firms to ensure they are fully compliant.

The Masterclass is aimed at senior managers and directors with strategic responsibilities, as well as compliance managers and directors, senior sales, marketing and HR managers.

Karen Warden, Head of Executive & Professional Education at the ifs School of Finance, said:

"Consumers need to be confident they will receive fair treatment, whether the company they do business with is small or large, and the FSA are increasingly recognising this.

Last month alone, the FSA expressed concern that some mortgage firms are failing to treat their customers fairly, that insurance companies are doing likewise and they also fined GE Capital Bank £610,000 for failing to treat their customers fairly. This goes a long way to demonstrating their intentions and it’s important that firms are geared up to meet these challenges.

Richard has worked with the FSA since 2001 on related issues and speaks widely on TCF. I am sure those who attend this Masterclass will learn some very valuable lessons from him as well as by engaging with other participants."
