The ifs School of Finance has joined in partnership with the University of London External System to offer a new Associateship Pathway for graduates of the BSc (Hons) in Banking and Finance. The pathway is an accelerated route whereby you can achieve the professional award of Associateship of the ifs School of Finance, and subsequently go on to attain full Chartered Associateship status.
Graduates of the BSc (Hons) Banking and Finance degree from the University of London External System (who registered after 1 September 05) are considered to have covered the required content to gain direct entry to the ifs Associateship programme, subject to their choice of options.*
The Associateship Pathway
To achieve Associateship, you need to complete four modules from the list below:
* You will need to have included coverage of management issues (unit 107)
within your Banking and Finance degree, or demonstrate equivalent learning via a
different qualification. If you have not taken unit 107, please contact the ifs on +44 (0) 1227 828232 to speak to an HE Guidance Officer or email abops@ifslearning.ac.uk.
** Corporate Finance 1 is a pre-requisite to Corporate Finance 2. You must also
have taken and passed the Quantitative Methods for Finance and Investment
module from the ifs Foundation Degree in Financial Markets and Management or
Diploma in Higher Education in Financial Markets and Management, or an
equivalent module in terms of content or level before embarking on Corporate
Finance 1.
*** Strategic Management in Financial Services is a pre-requisite to Retail Business
Strategy.

Onward progression
Having achieved Associateship, you will be able, subject to certain criteria, to work towards full professional Chartered Associateship status. The Chartered designation (CAifs) recognises those Associates who are committed to the very highest standards of professional practice.
