Pearson VUE requirements

You are required to arrive at the test centre 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. This will give you adequate time to complete the necessary sign-in procedures.

The appointment length also includes time to complete the on screen tutorial to help familiarise you with the Pearson VUE testing system, and a survey at the end of the examination. You will also be presented with the ifs Non-Disclosure and General Terms of Use on screen prior to starting the examination. You must choose "Yes, I accept" when prompted by the system within two minutes in order to take the examination. If you do not choose "Yes, I accept" within two minutes, the examination will time out and cannot be restarted. If you select "No, I do not accept" the examination will be terminated and cannot be restarted. If the Non-Disclosure Agreement times out due to not choosing one of the options presented or if you choose to not agree with the Non-Disclosure agreement, you will be required to pay the full amount for another examination should you wish to request a re-sit.

Identification Requirements

The following identification documents are acceptable for examinations:

Please ensure that your identification meets the following criteria:

The UK government currently does not issue identity cards. Immigration documents, Visas or other documentation from the UK Home Office or Immigration service are not acceptable forms of identification.

Bus passes, Transport passes, Library cards, Student or School identification cards and Work identification cards are not acceptable identification.

If you do not bring an acceptable identity document, you will not be allowed to take the examination. You will have to book and pay for a new examination slot on another day and you must ensure that you bring with you an acceptable identity document.

The full name and date of birth on your identity document must exactly match the name and date of birth you provided when you registered with the ifs School of Finance.

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late for an examination, you may be refused admission. In this event you will have to contact the ifs to register and pay for a re-sit of the examination.

When you arrive at the testing centre, you will be asked to place all of your personal belongings into a secure storage area. You will not be allowed to take any personal items with you into the examination room. This includes all bags, books or other materials not authorised for this examination, notes, cell phones, pagers, watches and wallets. If you need to take additional items into the testing room for medical reasons, please contact the ifs prior to your examination for advice.

If you wish to cancel or reschedule your examination, you must contact Pearson VUE on +44 (0) 870 6081915 and cancel one full business day (Monday - Friday UK time) prior to your examination appointment. For example, an examination appointment scheduled for a Wednesday would need to be cancelled by 17:00 UK time the previous Monday. Cancelling or rescheduling an examination after this time is subject to a penalty fee and candidates would need to contact the ifs to register and pay for a re-sit. Re-sit fees will also be payable should you not attend the booked examination(s) as scheduled.
